United States Agency for International Development (USAID) | June, 01 , 1996

In preparing this guide, The Manoff Group played the lead role. It is intended primarily to assist persons with some experience in qualitative research but not in breastfeeding-specific research. In addition to addressing the behavioral issues of interest to this audience (mainly in Chapter 1), the guide provides some detail on methods for planning, collecting, analyzing and using qualitative infonnation. The appendices contain tools and examples of research plans, question guides 9 etc. Readers desiring even more detail and tools for qualitative research should consult Designing by Dialogue, which should be available soon from USAID.
