Integrating Gender in Medical Education: Assessing Impact

Gender can be integrated into medical teaching by training medical faculty and providing them with relevant material in the form of modules, presentations and evidence. The study results are encouraging, as they indicate. The feasibility of integration within the time and resource constraints of medical colleges. The recent National Health Policy commits to gender mainstreaming in health programmes and medical education. In order to ensure good quality of care, there is a need to earmark funds towards different activities on mainstreaming gender into the medical curriculum.
